Required Immunizations Deadline Approaching

Please be reminded that we are fast approaching the deadline for required vaccines.  Governor Cooper extended the time for families to complete vaccinations.  The grace period ends on Friday, October 30.  Students not in compliance on Friday, October 30th will not be allowed to attend school Monday, November 2nd until proof of immunization is provided to the school office.

Families are strongly encouraged to obtain the required immunizations for their children on a timely manner.  The executive order applies to all students enrolled in Carteret County Public Schools.

Thanks, in advance for taking care of this very important requirement.  Questions may be directed to your school nurse.

Inside and Out, we are Shining Our Light

Thanks to the talents of Mrs. Patience Haye and her family, our Newport faculty and staff now have uniquely designed flags outside their doors. Teachers selected their favorite colors, a special design and the rest was magic!

We are Shining Our Light for Education at Newport Middle.

Welcome Fall to all of our Eagle Families

The Heart of A Teacher

"Once a teacher, always a teacher" quotes Principal, Debbie Trogdon as she engages with students from Mrs. Danette Guthrie's class as they program and demonstrate their skills of matrix animation on Sphero Bolts. "We make learning happen even with mask and social distancing as our students benefit from these experiences. Our Newport Middle teachers are engineering learning in ways not thought possible even five months ago".

Young Author Contest

The Crystal Coast Reading Council is excited to present the 2020 Young Authors Contest!  The theme this year is Let Your Light Shine, which is so appropriate because of Dr. Jackson's theme in his videos for CCPS.  Young authors are encouraged to write about self pride, finding the positive during challenging times, sharing talents with others, being a positive influence, showing kindness or creating change to better our world.  Authors may write prose or poetry, fiction or nonfiction.  There will also be a cover design contest for anyone interested in creating a cover design for the publication.

This slideshow (and the links within it) will give you all the guidelines you need to help your students participate.  Members of the Crystal Coast Reading Council can submit entries for writing or art.
