School Start and End Times for 2014-2015

Newport Middle School's first bell will ring at 8:00am and the tardy bell at 8:10am.  Dismissal bell will ring at 3:20pm.

POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL: APPLICATION FOR ACCESS

  • You MUST Complete one form for each student.  So if you have two students at NMS we need two applications (one for each student.)
  • Parents or students must return the application for approval prior to receiving the Parent Portal Access Codes and Information.  
  • Parents must come to Newport Middle School in person with a Photo ID to pick up their Parent Portal Access Codes and Information. 
  • One feature of the Parent Portal allows you to signup to receive daily emails containing student grades and attendance.

 

End of Year Events

Thursday June 4th 8th Grade Celebration 

Awards Ceremony will be Thursday Morning June 4th 8:30am-9:30am.  (Regular School Attire)

Celebration will be Thursday Evening June 4th at 6:30pm.  Each 8th Grader will receive 2 tickets for admission to the gym.  There will be an overflow room in the cafe' with live video feed.

Dress Code for both evening events (dress-to-impress) is as follows:

Young Men

  • Dress pants
  • Dress shirt or Polo shirt
  • Socks
  • Nice shoes
  • Sport Coats/Suits are optional

Young Women

  • Dress slacks, skirt, or dress
  • Spaghetti strap dresses are permissible with sweater or shawl
  • Blouse
  • Nice shoes

MacKenzie is the North Carolina Reading Association state-level winner of the 2014-2015 Young Author Writing Contest.

Mr. Stehle's 7th period's Red Ribbon Banner "Love Yourself - Be Drug Free" won Best Overall Banner in Carteret County.  Community Prevention Services, Inc. announced the winner and we have received the 2015 Best Overall Trophy!!
